Installation and Deployment Roadmap

What Is this Roadmap?

The Installation and Deployment Guide is designed to answer all your questions about installing and deploying the following Version 5 software brands:

  • CATIA

  • DELMIA

  • ENOVIA DMU Navigator

  • ENOVIA V5 VPM

  • ENOVIA 3d com.

How To Use the Roadmap

Originally, there was only the CATIA brand. But Version 5 solutions involving software components belonging to different brands are being deployed more and more and the need has arisen to compile a guide containing multiple brand deployment procedures ALL IN THE SAME PLACE.

Consequently, this Installation and Deployment Guide is your primary reference manual, the first place to look in the online documentation set for information about how to install, deploy and perform core administration tasks common to all Version 5 brands.

The table of contents contains all the information for all brands, and because the Installation and Deployment Guide contains information about installing and deploying all the above-mentioned brands, we have provided a table for each brand containing pointers to the sections in the guide which concern your brand. This will allow you to concentrate on only those sections relevant to the brand you are using.

For example, if you are deploying CATIA, you will need to know how to unload the CATIA code on Windows and UNIX, how to distribute the code to multiple machines, how to manage runtime environments, etc. but you will not need to know about setting up an ENOVIA database or deploying ENOVIA applications. So you can skip the sections covering those topics.
