The Performance Aide can be used as the primary provider of local AIX performance metrics to local or remote applications in an Internet Protocol (IP) network. It contains the System Performance Measurement Interface (SPMI) library and has a daemon that can perform local data filtering and alert generation. There are also OEM agents for HP and Sun machines. Performance Aide 2.2 is required for AIX 4.2. Performance Aide 1.2 or Performance Aide 2.1 will not run on AIX Version 4.2 and Performance Aide 2.2 will not run properly on AIX Version 3.2 or AIX Version 4.1 systems. Configuration files generated for Performance Aide 1.2 or Performance Aide 2.1 can be preserved and updated for use by Performance Aide 2.2 on AIX Version 4.2.
