Creating Seams & Breaks

This sections explains splitting of objects. Plates and stiffeners can be split by the creation of seams, or by creating a break. Seams and breaks are placed in decks and stiffeners at design time to indicate where they can be separated, or split, during the manufacturing process. This allows use of different material thicknesses and orientation in each piece, if needed. For example, a deck may need to be thicker in the middle portion than in the sides. Other properties can also be modified so that they are different for each piece of the deck or stiffener.
