This document details how to rebuild the System Data Repository
(SDR) on any RS/6000 SP/PSSP Control Workstation. Use this procedure only if
hostnames or IP addresses will NOT be changed.
- Ensure that you have all of the IP addresses and hostnames for
the nodes, enter:
	splstdata -a <adapters>
	splstdata -n <nodes>
NOTE: Document all adapter names and IP addresses. The/etc/hosts file also should contain the adapter names and IP addresses. Also document the initial and reliable hostnames.

- Gather information about the tty's that are connected to the frames, enter:
	splstdata -f <frames>

- Create an /etc/bootptab.info file, enter:
	splstdata -b <boot>
After entering the preceding command, you will see the hardware address. Insert the hardware address in the /etc/bootptab.info file in the following format (one node per line, no blank lines, and no empty spaces).

	1 12DE0031E100
	2 20K09287E03F

- Archive the SDR, enter:
	SDRArchive <today's date>
After entering the preceding command, you will see the filename that is created on the screen.

- Delete the SDR, enter:
	cd /spdata/sys/sdr
	rm -r defs
	rm -r partitions
	rm -r system
	stopsrc -g sdr

- Recreate the SDR, enter:
	install_cw
	spframe -r yes 1 2 /dev/tty0

- Enter the frame information in the SDR, enter:
	smitty enter_data
Select SP Site Environment and ensure that the cw_lppsource is pointing to the correct
directory.
- Enter the node information in the SDR, enter:
	smitty node_data

For PSSP 2.4:

- Select SP Ethernet Information for the SP reliable Ethernet.
- Select Get Hardware Ethernet Addresses which will get the
information out of the /etc/bootptab.info file created in Step 3.
- Select Additional Adapter Information and enter any other
Ethernet/Token Ring adapters and css0.
- Select Hostname Information only if the reliable and inital
hostnames were different.
- Select Boot/Install/usr Server Information and specify everything
that the nodes were pointing to before.

For PSSP 3.1.0 and above:

- Select SP Ethernet Information for the SP reliable Ethernet.
- Select Get Hardware Ethernet Addresses which will get the
information out of the /etc/bootptab.info file created in Step 3.
- Select Additional Adapter Information and enter any other
Ethernet/Token Ring adapters and css0.
- Select Hostname Information only if the reliable and initial
hostnames were different.
- Select Change Volume Group Information and specify everything that
the nodes were pointing to before.
- Select Boot/Install Server Information and ensure that it is the
same boot/install server as before.

- Recycle the syspar daemons to retrieve the host responses, enter:
	syspar_ctrl -D
	syspar_ctrl -A
You may have to execute the previous command on the nodes. To do this, issue the following commands.

	dsh -a syspar_ctrl -D
	dsh -a syspar_ctrl -A
