The following document discusses the software and procedures needed to set 
up both manual pages, or man pages, and InfoExplorer in AIX Versions 4.1 and 4.2 systems. 
This document applies to the InfoExplorer and manual pages from the hard drive 
only.

Please refer to Chapter 14 of the 4.1 System Management Guide (SC23-2525-01). 
Prerequisites: 
 
	- The LANG variable in your environment must be set to the correct value, 
en_US for US English. To display the variable, enter: 
 
   echo $LANG 
 Use the command smit chlang to change the LANG variable. 
	 
- The following filesets must be installed on the hard disk for manual pages and 
InfoExplorer: 
 
- bos.info.rte                    
                Base System InfoExplorer 
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.nav                 
    Navigation Database-en_US 
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.cmds_ref          Commands Database 
 
  
To determine if these 
filesets are installed on your system, use the command lslpp -l filesetname. 
  
To install the necessary filesets, use the command smit install_latest.

In addition to bos.info.rte, bos.info.en_US.nav, and  
bos.info.en_US.cmds_ref, 
the following filesets should be installed according to your application needs.

- pkg_gd                    
                        
       Package Installation Database for Current Media 
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.info_help               
    Help for InfoExplorer - en_US
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.smit_help               
   Help for SMIT - en_US
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.adapters_gd_ref      Adapters Database
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.aix_tech_ref             
AIX Technical Reference
 
 
- bos.info.en_US.assemb_ref               
Assembler Database
