Encina product provides modular function to design and implement distributed transactional applications that run in a heterogeneous, networked computing environment based on the Open Software Foundation's Distributed Computing Environment (OSF DCE). The product is based on technology provided by the Transarc Corporation.

Contains the Encina Structured File Server function.

If you are running Encina on your system, it is recommended that you stop all Encina related processes before installing a new version or reinstalling Encina. DCE Client (dce.client) must already be installed, but not necessarily configured on the appropriate machine before you install Encina.
