The Encina Client for AIX Package contains the Encina Application Developer's Kit and client support for the Encina Monitor, Recoverable Queueing System, Structured File Server and Server. The Application Developer's Kit provides support for C, C++ and COBOL programming together with Encina++ for object-oriented methods. The package contains the Transaction Service (TRAN), Transactional RPC (TRPC), Thread-to-Tid mapping (threadTid), TX, Encina Abort Facility (afac) components, the DCE Utilities Library, and Transactional-C (TranC) client and rpc libraries. The package consists of the separately installable fileset, encina.client.
The Encina Client for AIX software requires approximately 23 megabytes of disk space.
Requisite software must be installed before or with the filesets you are installing from this package.

If you are running Encina on your system, it is recommended that you stop all Encina related processes before installing a new version or reinstalling Encina. DCE Client (dce.client) must already be installed, but not necessarily configured on the appropriate machine before you install Encina.
