AIX Version 4.3 System Management Guide: Operating System and Devices

Appendix B. Managing the InfoExplorer Program

The InfoExplorer interface and library can be set up in different configurations depending on your needs. The following discusses specific aspects of system management for the InfoExplorer program:

Customizing the InfoExplorer Program

The InfoExplorer program can be set up to access the library from either a CD-ROM or a fixed disk. Accessing the library from the fixed disk can improve performance, but requires additional storage space due to the size of the information bases.

To customize the InfoExplorer program for your system, you can set up public notes to give users information that is specific to your installation or your information needs. You can also set up bookmark lists and history files and transfer them to other users to provide tutorials or similar ordered lists of information.
