ADF Adapter Description File
Three versions of the ADF are listed, exposing certain differences. The ADF versions have been obtained from the EPRM collection and Model 70/80 Reference Disk, versions 1.12 and 1.06. If you experience problems with the ADF version you have chosen to use, you may try the other two ADFs. Rename @DF9F_0.ADF or @DF9F_1.ADF to @DF9F.ADF prior to using it.
@DF9F_1.ADF, supplied with the Model 70/80 Reference Disk V1.06 (1988, German retail version) does not contain the DMA Pacing Control and Time to Release settings. The primary port address is assigned with a fixed resource setting and the bit-3 setting of pos[1] is not found in the later ADF versions:
@DF9F_1.ADF, Mod. 70/80 Reference Disk V1.06 (1988)
FixedResources pos[1]=00XX1XXXb pos[0]=XXXXXX0Xb io 3510h-3517h int 0eh
The ADF featured in the EPRM ADF-1 Collection (EPRADF1.INF) differs from the ADF supplied with the Model 70/80 Reference Disk V1.12, and also found in the EPRM ADF-0 Collection (EPRADF0.INF), in the bit patterns of the DMA Pacing Control and Time to Release settings of pos[2]:
@DF9F.ADF, EPRM ADF-1 Collection
Prompt "DMA Pacing Control" Choice vcheck "Disabled" pos[2]=1XXXXXXXb Choice vcheck "Enabled" pos[2]=0XXXXXXXb Prompt "Time to Release" Choice vcheck "6 Microseconds" pos[2]=X01XXXXXb Choice vcheck "3 Microseconds" pos[2]=X10XXXXXb Choice vcheck "Immediate" pos[2]=X00XXXXXb
@DF9F_0.ADF, Reference Disk V1.12 (1990), EPRM ADF-0 Collection
Prompt "DMA Pacing Control" Choice vcheck "Disabled" pos[2]=XXXXXXX1b Choice vcheck "Enabled" pos[2]=XXXXXXX0b Prompt "Time to Release" Choice vcheck "6 Microseconds" pos[2]=XXXXX1XXb Choice vcheck "3 Microseconds" pos[2]=XXXXX01Xb Choice vcheck "Immediate" pos[2]=XXXXX00Xb
