Creating a Hem

This task explains how to generate a hem from a spine and a profile.

aprereq.gif (1223 bytes) The SweptWall01.CATPart document is still open from the previous task.
If not, open the SweptWall02.CATPart document from the samples directory.

  1. Select the Hem icon I_SheHemP2.gif (223 bytes) in the Swept Walls sub-toolbar.

The Hem Definition dialog box opens.

  1. Select the edges as shown in red.

  1. Enter 2mm in the Radius field, and 3mm in the Length field.

  1. Click the More button to display the Bend Allowance tab allowing you to locally redefine the bend allowance settings. 
    You may need to deactivate the formula using the contextual menu on the field and choosing Formula -> Deactivate before editing the value.

In this case, the new K Factor value overrides the value set in the Sheet Metal Parameters.

  1. Click OK to create the hem.

The feature is added to the specification tree.
