My customer has installed a 3829 attached to PSF/6000. The 370 Channel
Emulator/A driver shows as loaded in the card but no slot numbers are
listed on the "Add a S/370 Channel-Attached Printer" panel when we try
to list them.
Does this indicate a hardware problem with the card?
Thanksą
A:
Have they tried multiple slots with the same result?
Can you tell me what model RS/6000 you're installing the card in?
Note that the S/370 Channel Emulator/A adapter can only be placed in
the first frame on a multiframe system and in the first bus (bus0) of
a multibus system.
Also, make sure that they've obtain and applied the latestPSF/AIX
PTFs before loading the device driver to make sure the latest driver
is installed. If they have an instance of PSF/AIX active for that
printer queue, it should be stopped using psfctl -dt
before trying to load the device driver. The system should be rebooted
after the PTFs are installed before reloading the driver. Please see
the readme instructions that accompany the PTF.
Have you tried issuing the "sense" command with the queues down? If so,
what are the results?
I hope this helps. Thanks for using ViewBlue.
