The sales manual indicates that PSF for AIX V 2.1 has transform
limitations:
"PCL transform discards device control statements, such as are used for
duplex or bin selection."
My customer is a service bureau who may get all types of PCL data
streams. They are looking at both the 3900 Wide Duplex and 3829
printers. If they get a PCL job that needs to be run duplex for the
entire job, I understand that a formdef could be created to do this
for the 3829 and with N-up on the 3900 WD. But if a PCL job switches
from duplex to simplex back and forth,(or bin selection switches back
and forth) how do I code my formdef? Does the pcl to afpds translate
insert IMMs to allow for a formdef copygroup support? If not, how
can I (if at all) print this type of job?
A:
The implementation of the PCL transform in PSF/AIX will ignore those
| commands altogether. Infoprint Manager V3.1 with current PTFs,
| however, will provide the support you're seeking. Please review the
