PSF/AIX
Hi, Customer has RS/6000 with AIX 3.2.5, they have two printers IBM 3827
attached via channel and IBM3900 DW1/DW2 attached via ethernet, they
want to make upgrade to AIX 4.2.1, Is there a driver for IBM 3827 in
this AIX version??. In PSF/6000?.

PSF/AIX does provide a driver for IPDS printers attached through the
S/370 Channel Emulator/A adapter, such as the 3827. For AIX V4,
including AIX 4.2.1, you will have to order and apply the current
PSF/AIX PTFs, shutdown and restart your RS/6000, then reload the channel
device driver onto the S/370 Channel Emulator/A adapter; if you do not
apply the PTFs and follow this procedure, neither PSF/AIX nor the
adapter will work under AIX V4. But if you follow this process
(instructions are also included in the text that ships with the PTF),
then both PSF/AIX, the printer attached to the S/370 Channel Emulator/A
adapter, and the duplex wides will work.
This is already noted in several libraried ASKQ/WWQ&A items, so please
always search libraried items first before creating a new question.
