Configuration questions:
1) Do the distribution clients have to be configured/ordered on the box
they will actually be attached to? Ie. does the system have internal
checks for licensed users? Ordering systems and know the total number of
clients, but not necessarily how many off each server. Does this matter?
2) We had previously discussed sizing for a central S/W distr. for AIX
box, 200 clients, 50 concurrent distr., PLAN and SERVER features. Total
memory we estimated was 128 MG. RFP requests a breakdown for memory for
S/W distribution. Should we still use 128MG?
3) Please confirm that the existing NV DMA clients will run off the new
S/W distribution for AIX, but I lose the GUI primarily? Is anything else
significant lost that I had with NV DM/6000? (Understand I won't get
most of the new V3 functions until the clients are upgraded.)

R1: Currently, Software Distribution for AIX does not have an internal
check for the number of licensed users. A customer only has to
licensed for the correct number of products. The configurator,
CFRS6000, will create an order for only one server and all the agent
licenses in one SystemView for AIX order. See below a configuration
report for 1 server and 300 agents.

R2: At times during the use of Software Distribution for AIX, the
product will use very little memory, but at other times, it will
use all memory that is avaialble. See "Software Distribution for AIX
V3R1 Performance Test End-Report", December 15, 1995.
R3: The existing NetView DMA (clients) can be used with Software
Distribution V3R1 for AIX (manager) for the agent functions, but
not for the GUI or Version 3 only features, such as compression
between client and server.
