Customer installing Nways V2 for AIX and having login environment
problems after following installation instructions for DB2 for Nways.

The HTML online instruction indicates that the PATH statement should
"include" the DB2 related paths but actually indicates explicitly
what the PATH statement should be and excludes the system default
directories.

Worked with customer to understand what environment settings were
being propagated for logins as well as system startup.
The CDE startup does not use the /etc/profile as evidenced by the
failure to affect PATH settings therein. The /etc/profile is referenced
if CDE is not running(the login method).

The /etc/environment file works for adding the DB2 variables to the
PATH statement...they just need to be appended to the system default
PATH settings. This works for either CDE operation or otherwise.

Customer problem resolved.

Customer also was getting license messages again from Nways even though
the licenses had been added (previous PMR which is closed).
It seems that the license messages were occurin after a reboot.
Had customer check the /etc/inittab for startup of the license server
process (i4llmd)....not in /etc/inittab.
Instructed customer to add the startup in /etc/inittab (/etc/i4ls.rc)
The license server should start up on future reboots. THe customer
ran the script manually and the licenses were checked(i4blt and i4nat)
and all were properly enrolled/registered for Nways Suite, ReMon,
DB2, etc.

Customer is pleased that problems are resolved and asked that PMR be
closed.
