Installing a Fileset in Maintenance Mode

Environment

Problem

A fileset needs to be installed from CD-ROM in maintenance mode.

Solution

Boot the system with the CD-ROM in service mode. Proceed through the following sequence:

	3  Start Maintenance Mode for System Recovery
              1  Access a Root Volume Group
                   Select the volume group
                     1  Access this volume group and start a shell

Then use SMIT to install the fileset. Before starting SMIT, make sure that you are in / (the root directory).

The input device will be

	/../SPOT/usr/sys/inst.images
