You can use two methods to shut down the system without rebooting:
the SMIT fastpath, or the shutdown
command.
You must have root user authority to shut down the system.
To shut down the system using SMIT:
- Log in as root.
- At the command prompt, type:
smit shutdown
To shut down the system using the shutdown command:
- Log in as root.
- At the command prompt, type:
shutdown
