This document explains how to boot an SP 332 MHz SMP Thin and Wide Silver Node via manual node conditioning. The advantage of manual node conditioning as opposed to normal node conditioning is that tty connections can assist in troubleshooting problems that may be occurring with the netboot. The normal node conditioning process uses the serial connection during its process, so the tty is unavailable for monitoring.
This document applies to PSSP Version 2.4 and AIX Versions 4.2.1 and 4.3.x.
spbootins -r maintenance -l node#
spmon -p on node# (or use GUI) spmon -open node# (or use GUI)
As soon as you see memory keyboard, type 1 1 1 1 1 (5 times only).
NOTE: If you hit 1 more than 5 times, you may go further than needed into the menus.

You should see bootp packets sent and received and then tftp packets sent and received.
Once tftp completes, the next screen you will see depends on the type of network boot that is occurring (install, migrate, maintenance, or diagnostics).
