The graPHIGS Programming Interface: Technical Reference

Appendix D. Printing with graPHIGS

The graPHIGS API provides the capability of converting CGM files produced by the graPHIGS API to PostScript for printing on any PostScript printer.

For more information about converting CGM to Postscript, see the file /usr/lpd/cgm2ps.readme .

Appendix E. How the Mnemonics are Generated

Diagnosis, Modification or Tuning Information

Diagnosis, Modification or Tuning Information is provided as additional guidance on the creation of mnemonics used in the product. This information should never be used as programming interface information.

You may want to know how mnemonics are generated for subroutine calls in the graPHIGS APIscreen Where possible with the two-letter sentinel used by all graPHIGS API calls, "GP," the abbreviations match those used in the GKS language binding. The GKS abbreviation is noted in parentheses when the graPHIGS API abbreviation differs. Words from which no letters are used for forming the mnemonic are categorized as deletions.

(X) indicates deletion (in some cases). ( ) indicates the GKS abbreviation, if different.
