ntx_reset Command

Purpose

Resets the Network Terminal Accelerator (NTX) adapter. This command only applies to AIX Version 4.2 or later.

Syntax

ntx_reset-d Device ]

Description

The ntx_reset command issues a hardware reset command to the NTX host adapter board.

Attention: Use this command with great caution. You should stop all activity on the NTX board and have no processes waiting on the board when issuing this command. For example, hty ports must not be login enabled.

Flags

-d Device Specifies the raw device file name of the adapter. Use this option to override the default device name /dev/rhp0.

Exit Status

This command returns the following exit values:

0 Successful completion.
>0 An error occurred.

Access Control: You must have root authority to run this command.

Auditing Events: N/A

Examples

To reset the default NTX host adapter, enter:

ntx_reset

Files

/usr/bin/ntx_reset Contains the ntx_reset command.
/dev/rhp0 Default NTX raw device file name.
