You can obtain help information on using the mail program by using the ?, man, or info commands.
The mail program must be installed on your system.
To get help in the mailbox, enter the following at the mailbox prompt:
?
help
The ? and help subcommands display a summary of common mailbox subcommands.
You can also display a list of all mailbox subcommands (with no explanation of what they do) by entering the (l)ist subcommand:

To get help in the mail editor, enter the following at the mail editor prompt:
~?
The ~? subcommand displays a summary of common mail editor subcommands.
To get help in the secret mail, enter the following at the mail editor prompt:
?
The ? subcommand displays a summary of common secret mail subcommands.
The man command provides information in ASCII form for reference articles on commands, subroutines, and files.
The mail program must be installed on your system.
Enter the following at your system command line prompt:
man mail
In this example, mail is the command name being searched. The system will provide you with ASCII documentation about the mail command. At the continuation marker (:), press Enter to view the rest of the document.
