Performance Aide Package Information

The Performance Aide can be used as the primary provider of local AIX performance metrics to local or remote applications in an Internet Protocol (IP) network. It contains the System Performance Measurement Interface (SPMI) library and has a daemon that can perform local data filtering and alert generation. There are also OEM agents for HP and Sun machines.

Fileset Names

perfagent.server Performance Agent Daemons and Utilities

This fileset contains the performance daemons and API. It is required by the Performance Toolbox to monitor local and remote performance statistics.

perfagent.html.en_US.data Performance Toolbox Guide and Reference

This fileset contains the Performance Toolbox and Performance Aide HTML files that can be viewed using a web browser.

Approximate Disk Space Required

The AIX Performance Agent package requires approximately 9.3 MB of disk space.

Install requisite software either before or with the filesets you are installing from this package.

Special Installation Notes

Stop Performance Agent Daemons and Utilities before installing another version of the software. If the performance agent daemons had been running, then reboot the system after installation. OEM agents can be installed on HP and Sun machines by copying the installation script to the OEM machine and running it.
