Downloading and updating the 2161-C3D's DVD driver and software.

To update the DVD drivers and software on the 2161-C3D, follow the steps listed below

Create a directory on your C: drive called DVDUP
1. Double click on the "My Computer" Icon
2. Double Click on the Icon representing the C: drive
3. Click on "File", "New" then "Folder"
4. Type DVDUP and press <Enter>

Download C3DDVDUP.EXE to the DVDUP directory you just created.

Click on "Start" then "Run" and type 'C:\DVDUP\C3DDVDUP'. This will inflate files into the C:\DVDUP directory.

WARNING: As with any software update or upgrade, IBM STRONGLY recommends that you take the time to backup any critical data you may have.

Install the updated Cinemaster drivers using the following steps.
1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.
2. Double click the System Icon.
3. Choose the tab labeled Device Manager.
4. Click on the '+' next to Sound and Video Game Controllers to expand the selection.
5. Highlight Cinemaster, click Properties.
6. Choose the tab labeled Drivers.
7. Click the button labeled Update Driver.
8. Windows 95 will ask if you wish to let Windows locate the driver. Click the radio button to the left of "yes" and click next.
9. Windows 95 will state that it couldn't find the Cinemaster drivers on the diskette. Click on the button labelled "Other Locations".
10. Type 'C:\DVDUP' in the dialog box and click "OK"
11. Click "Finish" when Windows 95 asks if you wish to install the Cinemaster driver.
12. Windows 95 will copy the updated files from the disk to the hard drive When the files are done click on "yes" to restart the computer.

Install the updated DVD player software.
1. Place the DVD software Disk 1 in the floppy drive.
2. Click "Start" then "Run" and type ' C:\DVDUP\setup' into the dialog box and click "OK"
3. Click "Next" when the Welcome screen comes up
4. Now the Readme and license agreement will come up. Click "Next"
5. Type in the Users Name and company name then click "Next"
6. Now the destination directory should read "C:\Program Files\QI\DVDplayer. Click "Next"
7. Verify the "Current settings " are correct then click "Next"
8. Once the files have been copied, Click "Finish" to complete the install.
9. Click on "Start", "Programs", "Ms-Dos prompt"
10. Type "cd\" and press <enter>.
11. Type the following. Make sure you do not use the "":
"copy c:\dvdup\dvdpld.dll c:\windows\system" and press <enter>.
12. You may be asked if you want to overwrite the existing files. Answer Y for yes.
13. When the copy is complete type "Exit" and press <enter> to close the Dos window.
