Description:
This update package is a self-extracting bootable diskette that is used to reinstall the original MediaMatics DVD Express 3.1 player on select Aptivas. Due to copyright, this program will only function on Aptivas that were preinstalled with MediaMatics DVD Express.
How to use this software:
A: Download RESTDVD.EXE to your hard drive.(You will need approximately 1MB of free space on your hard drive to download the file.)
B: Place a blank, 3.5" Floppy disk in the floppy drive.
Label the Disk "DVD Restore".
C: In Windows 98, Click <Start>, <Run>, then type C:\path\RESTDVD.EXE (Where C:\path is the location you saved RESTDVD.EXE). This will build a bootable diskette .
D: Using the Disk to restore the MediaMatics DVD Express 3.1 software.
( Make sure there is at least 9.4MB of free space on the C: drive to install the TEMP files from your Recovery CD.)
1. Place the disk labelled "DVD Restore" in the floppy drive.
2. Click on <Start>, <Shutdown>, <Restart the computer>, and then <Yes>.
3. The computer will boot to the disk.
4. When prompted, put the Aptiva Product Recovery CD in the DVD-ROM drive.
5. When the "busy" light goes off on the DVD drive, press any key to continue the process.
6. The system will extract the software from the CD and place it onto your hard drive.
7. Remove the CD and Floppy disks from the machine and restart the computer.
E: Reinstalling the MediaMatics DVD Express 3.1 software.
1. Click on <Start> then <Run> and type "C:\TEMP\DVDEXPRE\Setup.exe"(without the "").
2. Click on <OK>.
3. Read the "Welcome" screen then click <Next>.
4. Read the License Agreement and click <Yes> to accept the terms and conditions.
5. The next screen will ask for a destination folder. Click <Next> to accept the default folder.
6. Install will begin copying files to the destination folder.
7. Click <Finish> to complete the setup.
