Unpacking File Attachments

Applicable to: World-Wide

There may be several different types of file attached on a System Support Disk document.

Files with the extension .ZIP should be unpacked onto a blank diskette using PKUNZIP.

Files with the extension .EXE are self-extracting ZIP files, make the drive with a blank diskette the current directory and run the EXE file.

For files with the extention .DSK you will require a copy of LOADDSKF.EXE in order to re-create the disk image. This is available within this database under the Utilities Section.
You should:
1. Detach the attached file into a sub-directory of your choice.
2. Ensure that a copy of LOADDSKF.EXE is available within the same sub-directory.
3. Enter the command LOADDSKF FILENAME A: where filename is the filename of the attached file and a: is the disk on which you want to create the disk image.

File attachments with .PDF extentions can only be read by using the Adobe Acrobat reader. This can be obtained by clicking on the Adobe Acrobat doclink.

Other files will normally be usable as they are.
