Description This diskette enables or updates the IDE driver of the following ThinkPad computers: - ThinkPad 365X, 365XD - ThinkPad 560X, 560Z - ThinkPad 570 - ThinkPad 600, 600E - ThinkPad 760E, 760ED, 760EL, 760ELD - ThinkPad 760XD, 760XL - ThinkPad 765D, 765L - ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X, 770Z NOTE: The IDE driver was previously included with the ThinkPad Utility diskette, version 4.10 and before. Please see bottom of page for links to language specific versions of this file.

Additional Information:	NOTE: This driver will now automatically extract to your hard drive. It will only extract under Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT. The extraction process will NOT work with any other operating system. Installation Guide (For Windows NT 3.51) 1. Start Windows NT 3.51, and log on with the user ID authorized as an administrator. 2. Open Windows NT Setup in Main Program Group. 3. Select Add/Remove SCSI Adapters... from Option menu. 4. Push Add... button. 5. Click OK in Setup Message screen. 6. Select Other[Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer] from Adapter:. 7. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted and click on the 'OK' button. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\WNT\IDE\. 8. Select a correct driver and click OK. The driver you have to select is as follows. ThinkPad PIIX IDE Driver: for ThinkPad 365X, and 760E/760X/765 families ThinkPad PIIX4 IDE Driver: for ThinkPad 560X, 570, 600, and 770 families 9. Select Install. 10. Specify the full path and click Continue. 11. Click Close. 12. Restart the computer. (For Windows NT 4.0) 1. Start Windows NT 4.0. Logon with administrative privilege. 2. Extract the driver onto the hard drive. 3. Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel'. 4. Double click on SCSI Adapters in Control Panel. If you find the following drivers from Drivers tab, remove them. Intel PIIX PCI Bus Master IDE Controller IDE CD-ROM(Atapi 1.2)/Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller 5. Click Add.... 6. Click Have Disk... in Install Driver screen. 7. Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted and click on the 'OK' button. The default path is C:\DRIVERS\WNT\IDE\. 8. Select the correct driver, and click OK. The driver you have to select is as follows. ThinkPad PIIX IDE Driver: for ThinkPad 365X, and 760E/760X/765 families ThinkPad PIIX4 IDE Driver: for ThinkPad 560X, 570, 600, and 770 families 9. Restart the computer. Summary of Changes v1.00 -(New) IDE driver is regrouped. -(New) Support for new models. v1.01 -(New) Over 8GB HDD is supported. National Language Support Only some drivers will be available in other languages. If you do not see a listing like this for additional languages, then that driver is available in English only. The English driver will work in ALL countries. This driver is available in the following language format.
