Installation Guide
(Note)
To determine if you have to update the display driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.

Windows 95 (Retail Version, Service Pack 1)
1. Boot Windows 95.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on the Start button.
4. Move the cursor to the Settings then click on the Control Panel.
5. Double-click on the Display icon.
6. Select the Settings tab.
7. Click on the Change Display Type... button.
8. Click on the Change... button under 'Adapter type' field.
9. Click on the Have Disk... button.
10. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\VIDEO and click on the OK button.
11. Windows 95 finds 'NeoMagic MagicGraph 128XD' then click on the OK button. Windows 95 copies all driver files to your hard disk.
12. After driver files are copied, click on the Close button to close the 'Change Display Type' window.
13. Select color depth, resolution, and font.
14. Click on the Close button to close the 'Display Properties' windows.
15. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 95.

Windows 95 (OSR2: OEM Service Release 2)
1. Boot Windows 95.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on the Start button.
4. Move the cursor to the Settings then click on the 'Control Panel'.
5. Double-click on the Display icon.
6. Select the Settings tab.
7. Click on the Advanced Properities button.
8. Click on the Change... button in the 'Adapter' tab.
9. Click on the Have Disk... button.
10. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\VIDEO and click on the OK button.
11. Windows 95 finds 'NeoMagic MagicGraph 128XD' then click on the OK button. Windows 95 copies all driver files to your hard disk.
12. After driver files are copied, click on the Close button to close the 'Advanced Display Properities' window.
13. Select color depth, resolution, and font.
14. Click on the Close button to close the 'Display Properties' windows.
15. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 95.

Windows 98 (for except ThinkPad 380/380D/380E/380ED/385D/385ED)
1. Boot Windows 98.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on the Start button.
4. Move the cursor to the Settings then click on the 'Control Panel'.
5. Double-click on the Display icon.
6. Select the Settings tab.
7. Click on the Advanced... button.
8. Select the Adapter tab.
9. Click on the Change... button. 'Update Device Driver Wizard' runs.
10. Click on the Next button.
11. Select the 'Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now.(Recommended)' and click the Next button.
12. Put the check mark only in the 'Specify a location:' and type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\VIDEO.
13. Click on the Next button.
14. Windows 98 finds 'NeoMagic MagicGraph 128XD' then click on Next button.
Windows 98 copies all driver files to your hard disk.
15. After driver files are copied, click on the Finish button.
16. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 98.

17. Open display control panel again.
18. Select the Settings tab.
19. Select color depth, resolution.
20. Click on the OK button.
--- Font setting ---
21. Open display control panel again.
22. Select the Settings tab.
23. Click on the Advanced... button.
24. Select font size.
25. Click on the OK button.
26. Click on the Close button to close the 'Display Properties' window.
27. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 95.

Windows 98(for ThinkPad 380/380D/380E/380ED/385D/385ED)
1. Boot Windows 98.
2. Extract the drivers onto the hard disk.
3. Click on the Start button.
4. Move the cursor to the Settings then click on the Control Panel.
5. Double-click on the Display icon.
6. Select the Settings tab.
7. Click on the Advanced... button.
8. Select the Adapter tab.
9. Click on the Change... button. 'Update Device Driver Wizard' runs.
10. Click on the Next button.
11. Select the 'Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want' and click the Next button.
12. Click on the Have Disk... button.
13. Type C:\DRIVERS\W9X\VIDEO in the source path and click on the OK button.
14. Windows 98 finds 'NeoMagic MagicGraph 128XD' then click on the OK button.
15. 'Update Driver Warning' appears on the screen. Click on the Yes button to continue to install.
16. Click on the Next button.
Windows 98 copies all driver files to your hard disk.
17. After driver files are copied, click on the Finish button.
18. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 98.

19. Open display control panel again.
20. Select the Settings tab.
21. Select color depth, resolution.
22. Click on the OK button.
--- Font setting ---
23. Open display control panel again.
24. Select the Settings tab.
25. Click on the Advanced... button.

28. Click on the Close button to close the 'Display Properties' window.
29. Click on the Yes button to restart Windows 98.
