Group PTF for NSM (Manager)

The list of PTFs documented here contains the most current set of PTFs available for the IBM Network Station Manager for AS/400 systems at OS/400 Version 3 Release 2.

We suggest you apply the complete set of PTFs documented here so your AS/400 system is at the latest level.

For your convenience, we have made a Group PTF for the IBM Network Station Manager PTFs. This Group PTF can be obtained by using the ECS ordering process. You may simply order the single PTF 5733A06-SF99080 and all of the PTFs included in the group (which is the entire set described in the list below) will be sent to you on hard media. However, if you prefer to obtain the PTFs electronically, you may order each one individually rather than ordering the Group PTF.

If you plan to apply these PTFs DELAYED, be sure that PTF MF16618 for product 5763999 has already been applied.

  3. The PTF SF42228 contains the 2.8.AE boot monitor image. The special instructions in the PTF cover letter contains the steps you should follow in order to update your IBM Network Stations to this boot monitor image. Additional information about this boot monitor upgrade can also be found in document: II10405 - AS/400: Network Station Reference.
  4. The PTF SF42944 enables the command SAVLICPGM for 5733A06 to complete successfully.
  5. The PTF SF53101 provides Y2K readiness for 5733A06.

Browser Support

The PTFs provided in the Group PTF 5733A06-SF99080 include all of the enablement support for the NC Navigator (License Programs 5648-B10 and 5648-B20). Therefore, be sure to apply these PTFs if you plan on using the NC Navigator on your IBM Network Stations.

To support the NC Navigator, changes to the Network Station Manager configuration files are performed by some of these PTFs. Therefore, once this set of PTFs is on your system you should not remove them unless you have a plan to re-install them (or the most current set of PTFs at the time).

Note: Additional information concerning both the NC Navigator and the IBM Network Station Browser can be found in document: II10405 - AS/400: Network Station Reference .

Browser PTFs

Important Information: It is not necessary to apply PTFs SF43589 and SF43590 to an AS/400 system using OS/400 Version 3 Release 2. But if these PTFs are applied or removed on an AS/400 system running OS/400 R320 then an informational error message, and a message CPF3569 will display. These error messages can be ignored when encountered on a R320 AS/400 system for these PTFs.
