Abstract: NETFINITY 5600: CPU REPLACEMENT RESULTS IN NO VIDEO OR ERROR

SYMPTOM:

When replacing processor card assemblies the following faults may be seen:

•  No video display.
•  Erroneous errors during POST.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

•  The system is any of the following IBM Netfinity servers:

    a Netfinity 5600 server, Type 8664, any Model.

•  The system's processor card assembly is being replaced.

FIX:

Once the processor card assembly is seated using the lever mechanism, you should press down onto the assembly in the area of the connector to fully seat the assembly.
Take care not to bend the connector pins protruding upwards through the processor card.
