Ethernet drivers for Unixware 7.0 and 7.1

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

•  The system is any of the following IBM Netfinity servers:

          a Netfinity 8500R server , Type 8681, any Model.
          a Netfinity 7000-M10 server, Type 8680, any Model.
          a Netfinity 5500-M20 server, Type 8662, any Model.
          a Netfinity 5500-M10 server, Type 8661, any Model.
          a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model.
          a Netfinity 3000 server, Type 8476, any Model.
          a Netfinity 1000 server, Type 8477, any Model.
   

•  The system is configured with the following product(s):

          a IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCI Adapter, FRU P/N 08L2550.
          a IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCI Adapter with Alert on LAN 2, FRU P/N 34L1109.
          a IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCI Adapter with Wake on LAN, a FRU P/N 08L2566 or P/N 30L5929.
          a IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCI Management Adapter, FRU P/N 34L1209.
          a IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapter, FRU P/N 30L7583 or P/N 34L1509.
   

•  NOS affected:
•  SCO UNIX, version 7.0.

DETAILS:

The latest version (3.12) software release for both the IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCI Adapters family and the IBM Netfinity 10/100 Ethernet Adapters family provides the Unixware 7 driver for Unixware 7.0 level only.

This driver is the IBMFE.PKG version 1.3.3, (size 80384, dated 12/17/98), shipped with version 3.12 software CD (this CD ships with the adapter) or the driver can be downloaded from the web

search for ETP1003.EXE version 3.12 diskette or ETPNF102.EXE version 3.12 diskette.

For Unixware 7.1 support, users can use the driver that comes with the Unixware 7.1 CD.
This driver is a generic Intel driver for supporting all 8255x-based 10/100 PCI network interface cards, including the IBM network interface cards described in this tip.
