Abstract: FIBRE CHANNEL RAID CONTROLLER: REQUIRES UNIQUE TRAY ID(S)

SYMPTOM:

When multiple EXP15s are attached to a Fibre Channel RAID Controller, Type 3526, the tray ID switch must be unique for each EXP15.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:

There is a tray number switch on the back of the expansion unit.
Use this switch to identify the expansion unit.
The rotary switch allows you to dial a number from 0-9, which identifies the expansion box.
System Management software (e.g. IBM Netfinity Manager and SYMplicity Storage Manager) use this number to provide data and alerts on the expansion unit.

Ensure that these IDs are unique.

Note: Once the switches are changed an orderly shutdown and reboot is required to get the system to recognize the change.

-IMPORTANT- Change only one switch setting per shutdown and reboot.
