Abstract: SERVICE PROCESSOR UTILITY: SCHEDULED POWER ON FAILS


SYMPTOM:

If the Advanced Systems Management processor or the Advanced Systems Management PCI adapter is configured with the Service Processor Utility to power on at a specific date, and if that date is right after a decade change, the system will not automatically power on at the specified time.
The customer must use the power on switch to turn the system on.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


FIX:

This behavior is fixed in the latest firmware (see below for your Machine Type) for the Advanced Systems Management Processor or the Advanced Systems Management PCI Adapter.

Note: The following files were released between 11/15/1999 and 11/22/1999.


For the 5000:

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity 5000 Advanced System
Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette, Version 2.10 " or higher.


For the 5500:

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity 5500 Advanced System
Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette, Version 2.10 " or higher.


For the 5500-M10

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity 5500 M10 Advanced
System Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette, Version 2.10 " or higher


For the 5500-M20:

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity 5500 M20 Advanced
System Management Processor Firmware Update Diskette, Version 2.10 " or higher.


For the 7000-M10:

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity Advanced System
Management PCI Adapter Firmware Update Diskette, Version 2.10 " or higher.


For the Advanced Systems Management Adapter:

Download and apply "IBM Netfinity Advanced System
Management PCI Adapter Firmware Update Diskette, version 2.10" or higher.
