SYMPTOM:
Any of the following behavior may be experienced if the external Power Supply that ships with the adapter is not installed:
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
a Netfinity 5600 server, Type 8664, any Model.
a Netfinity 5500-M20 server, Type 8662, any Model.
a Netfinity 5500-M10 server, Type 8661, any Model.
a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model.
a Netfinity 5000 server, Type 8659, any Model.
Netfinity Advanced Systems Management PCI Adapter,
Option P/N 01K7209, FRU P/N 07L5496.
FIX:
Install the External Power supply that ships with the Advanced Systems Management PCI Adapter.
Note: Plug in the External Power supply to the Advanced Systems Management PCI Adapter BEFORE
reconnecting the power cord(s) to the system power supply(s).

instructions on installation.

DETAILS:
The External Power supply is required to provide sufficient power to the Advanced Systems
Management PCI Adapter in systems that have the Advanced Systems Management Processor onboard.
You do not have to use the External Power supply on the 7000-M10 or 8500 that come standard with the ASM PCI Adapter.
