Abstract: NT INSTALL REPORTS INCORRECT HDD SIZE

TEXT:

Windows NT install reports incorrect size of hard disk drive.

SYMPTOMS:

On large hard drives (over 8GB), during the install of Windows NT, the hard drive size is incorrectly shown as being smaller (shows as 8GB).

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

•  The system is any IBM PC Server or Netfinity server.
•  The system is configured with any number of Processors.
•  The system's Diagnostics Pass.
•  NOS affected:

FIX:

None.

DETAILS:

This is a known limitation in NT.

Though the hard drive size is incorrectly shown during the install, the correct size is shown by NT disk administrator once the installation is completed.
