Abstract: NETFINITY 5500: RACK RAIL KIT (28L0646)

SYMPTOM:

The front (black) rack retaining flanges cannot be fitted to the side of the Netfinity 5500 server due to a tolerance issue on the side rail.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

•  The system is any of the following IBM Netfinity servers:

    a Netfinity 5500-M20 server, Type 8662, any Model.
    a Netfinity 5500-M10 server, Type 8661, any Model.
    a Netfinity 5500 server, Type 8660, any Model.

•  The system is configured with the Rail Kit Option P/N 28L0646, FRU P/N 01K6981.

In this case the problem should be regarded as a "Short Shipment" and P/N 36L9579 should be requested.

Note: P/N 36L9579 contains modified black side brackets with increased clearance and 4 screws.
