This will only happen when a Virtual Point-to-Point Adapter (VPPA) is installed and running BtiVPPA V1.0 (in CD Version 1.0).

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:

FIX:

Download "Vppa101.*" from the following URL:

http://www.pc.ibm.com/searchfiles.html

Follow the Instructions in the Vppa101.txt file that comes with this Fix.

This fix includes:
Vppa101.exe (Self Extracting exe) Vppa101.txt (Read Me)

NOTE: It is recommended this update be applied to all ESCON adapters running with VPPA Version 1.0.(BtiVPPA V1.0)

DETAILS:

To Verify what Version installed, check Windows NT Event Log as Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer
Look for first BtiVPPA event for BtiVPPA V1.x started.

Note: Netfinity ESCON Adapter Software CD Version 1.1 and above includes this fix. (BtiVPPA V1.1) CD Version 1.1 expected deliverable is April 1999.
