Abstract: LOGIN to SYSTEM MANAGEMENT UTILITY with a WEB BROWSER FAILS


TEXT:

Login to System Management Utility through a web browser fails.


SYMPTOM:

Upon login to System Management Utility through Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser (versions below 3.0), an ERROR 404 screen will appear when attempting to move between screens.
This situation occurs when the mouse is used to select the hyper-linked options of the System Management Utility Menu.
This will not happen when using MS browser 3.0 or newer.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


WORKAROUND:

At the ERROR 404 screen, use the BACK button of the browser to return to the main menu and manually enter the hyper-linked option number using the keyboard. Use the submit button and mouse to enter the selection.
