Abstract: REMOTE CONNECTION LOST when RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS


SYMPTOM:

When Netfinity 5500 diagnostics, version 2.00, is run remotely and "Run Quick Test" is selected the remote connection will be lost during the test. This occurs when the "Restart Service Processor Test" runs which resets the remote connection being handled by the service processor.


PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:


FIX:

In diagnostic version 2.01 the "Run Quick Test" will be altered to not include "Restart Service Processor Test". When this change is made it will be fine to run "Run Quick Test" remotely.


WORKAROUND:

When running diagnostics remotely do not select the
"Run Quick Test".


DETAILS:

In the "Run Quick Test" of the diagnostics is included a "Service Processor Test". A subset of the "Service Processor Test" is a "Reset Service Processor Test". This test will reset the service processor which is handling the remote connection.
