The following pertains only to the Netfinity 5500 server
Type 8660 models 11U, 1RU, 41U, 4RU, 11X, 1RX, 41X, 4RX
configured with a Adaptec SCSI Adapter model AHA-2940UW
IBM Option p/n 02K3454 (FRU p/n10L7095):
The Adaptec SCSI Adapter BIOS will not load upon POST
if 8 or more logical drives are defined with the Onboard
ServeRAID II Controller or a optional ServeRAID II Adapter.
WORKAROUND:
IF the system is configured to boot to a drive supported by
the Adaptec Adapter, then configure the Onboard ServeRAID II
Controller and / or optional ServeRAID II Adapter to no more
than 7 Logical drives.
Detail:
The Adaptec BIOS will not load if 8 or more logical
drives are configured with the Onboard ServeRAID II Controller
and / or a optional ServeRAID II Adapter.
If the System is NOT configured to Boot from a device attached
to the Adaptec Controller, then the Onboard ServeRAID II
Controller and / or optional ServeRAID II Adapter may be
configured to support up to their maximum Logical drive capacities.
