ECA 026 - 8512 Focus or Brightness
8512 - Focus and/or excessive Brightness
PURPOSE:
Provide a replacement 8512 color display for a failing unit,
that meets all three following specifications:
- serial number with "72" prefix.

- serial number range
72-0120000 thru 72-0405000 --- ECA expires 2/29/92.
************************and*******************************
- displayed text or graphics is out of Focus and/or
excessively bright.
DETAIL:
A limited number of 8512 color displays may fail, exhibiting
one or both of the following symptoms:
- Text or graphics out of Focus.
- Excessive brightness that cannot be adjusted effectively
with the brightness and contrast control knobs.
** NOTE ** incorrect adjustment of the brightness and contrast
controls can create similar symptoms in a good display. Use the
following adjustment procedures to verify that the 8512 is
adjusted properly.
- Turn the contrast (front knob) to its maximum position.
(This is toward the front of the display.)
- Adjust the brightness (rear knob) until the right and left
borders are not visible against a black background. If an
application with a black background is not available, make
this adjustment with the system unit Powered off.
- Leave the brightness control as set and adjust the contrast
control for clarity and viewing comfort.
If the brightness and Focus cannot be corrected with these
procedures, the 8512 should be replaced. This ECA provides a
replacement display at no charge to the customer for an 8512
that meets all of the physical check requirements.
NOTEs:
If customer provides "proof of purchase", this ECA is effective
for three (3) years from date of purchase.
