ECA 014 - P70 level one FRUs

 

8573 system, level one FRU replacement

PURPOSE:
Convert level one 8573 systems to level two systems when replacing any of the four associated level one parts during service.

PHYSICAL check:
Systems that have a serial number from 23-0000001 through 23-0003000 for model 061 or a serial number 23-1000001 through 23-1003000 for a model 121 and a 5 pin in line male connector on the plasma display Power cable are eligible this ECA:. The connector pin's on the level one cable connector are arranged in a row (see figure below) and are located on a connector that is plugged into a 3 Inch long cable / connector that exits the Power supply.

Prerequisites:
Systems must have the associated level one parts installed in them.

DETAIL:
If the previous checks and prerequisites are satisfied and the system has a failure in one or more of the four FRUs listed below, the failing FRU(s) will be replaced under the customers service offering in effect at the time of system failure. For example: warranty, on-site / carry-in maintenance agreement, or a per call method.

This ECA will replace the remainder of the associated level one operational FRUs for conductivity purposes and convert the system to current FRU replacement parts. Therefore, the ECA will only need to be performed once on level one systems.

The associated level 2 FRU part numbers are:

   1. plasma display unit         P/N 38F4737
   2. video adapter card          P/N 38F4686
   3. plasma display Power cable  P/N 38F5939
   4. Power supply                P/N 38F4734

NOTEs:
Order parts through distribution. Return all removed parts through normal channels.
