IBM AT-Bus Fast SCSI-2 Adapter.
Limitations
This Adapter conforms with ANSI SCSI-2 and will work with SCSI-2 FAST devices.
(ANSI standard X3.131-1986)
Compatibility (support following SCSI options)
The IBM FAST SCSI-2 Adapter FRU P/N 92F0330 (jumper) has been replaced by FRU P/N 82G4879 (switch). FRU P/N 82G4879 autom. determines if adapter termination is required.
Interrupt Selection Switches
The adapter's interrupt setting cannot be used by other devices in your computer.
Interrupt jumpers are labeled IS0, IS1 and IS2.
ROM Address Selection
If EMM386.EXE (PC-DOS memory manager) is installed (in CONFIG.SYS), then be sure
the adapter's memory address has been excluded.
I/O Address Selection
This setting defines the adapter's base I/O port. It cannot be used by other devices in the computer.
Fast SCSI Comparison / Jumper and Switches
A jumper installed on 2-PIN's equals a switch in the ON position.

The Memory ENABLED / DISABLE jumper must be set to ENABLED. (Disable is used by factory diagnostics only)
1) DOS environment:
The IBM drivers are to be used in the DOS environment to
support CD-ROM and R/W Optical drives only.
2) OS/2 2.0 environment:
In the OS/2 2.0 environment, the IBM 16-Bit AT Fast SCSI
Adapter Device Driver (IBM16AFS.ADD) should be used to
support the IBM 16-bit AT SCSI Fast Adapter. Once the
driver for the adapter has been installed, support for
the IBM SCSI Rewriteable Optical drive and/or an
IBM SCSI CD-ROM drive may also be installed.

USING the DEVICE DRIVERS
1) Description:
For a complete description of the Device Drivers, refer to
the documentation included in your IBM 16-bit AT SCSI Fast
Adapter Kit.
2) Installation procedure for DOS:
NOTE: REFER TO the IBM 16-BIT AT FAST SCSI ADAPTER OPTION
DISKETTE MANUAL FOR SPECIFIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
DOS 3.x, 4.x, and 5.0 ENVIRONMENTS.
To simplify the installation process, use the device driver
install utility UINSTALL. This utility will copy the
necessary device drivers to the target drive and make
appropriate changes, if necessary, to the CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT startup files.
3) Special installation instructions for IBM OS/2 2.0 users:
NOTE: The INSTRUCTIONS in the IBM 16-BIT AT FAST SCSI ADAPTER
OPTION DISKETTE MANUAL SHOULD BE USED INSTEAD OF the
INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED WITH the OS/2 2.0 OPERATING SYSTEM.
To simplify the installation process, use device driver
install utility DDINSTAL. This utility will copy the
necessary device drivers to the target drive and make the
appropriate changes if necessary to the CONFIG.SYS
and AUTOEXEC.BAT startup files. Be sure to follow
the instructions in the IBM 16-Bit AT Fast SCSI Adapter
Option Diskette manual to run the DDINSTAL utility.
INSTALLATION NOTES
1) The IBM 16-Bit AT Fast SCSI Adapter has built in
support for SCSI hard disk. Follow the instructions
that came with the operating system to prepare the
SCSI hard disk for use.
2) SCSI hard disk can be configured to be the boot
hard disk for the computer. This requires the
removal of all ST-506 or IDE drives. If the
computer supports the selective boot procedure as
a configuration option, the following instructions
must be followed.
1) Remove any ST-506 or IDE hard disk from the system.
2) Run the computer configuration utility. Select the
"Run automatic configuration" option.
3) Follow the instruction in the IBM 16-Bit AT Fast
SCSI Adapter Installation Instructions to install
the adapter and SCSI hard disk.
4) Run the computer configuration program.
NOTE: DO NOT SELECT the "VIEW CONFIGURATION" OR
"MODIFY CONFIGURATION" OPTIONS WITH the ADAPTER
INSTALLED. IN SOME COMPUTERS, SELECTING THESE
OPTIONS will CREATE A CONFIGURATION ERROR DURING
POWER ON SELF TEST. IF THIS OCCURS, REMOVE the
ADAPTER FROM the COMPUTER and CONTINUE WITH STEP
2 ABOVE.
5) Follow the instruction to select the "Boot
sequence" option and enable booting form hard
drive where required. IN SOME COMPUTERS
THIS OPTION IS DISABLED IN STEP 2.
6) Follow the instructions to save the configuration
and exit. This will cause the computer to Reboot
and enable the changes.
7) Boot the computer from the operating system
diskette and prepare the SCSI hard disk for use.
OPTION DISKETTE
This diskette contains the device drivers required to
support the IBM 16-Bit AT Fast SCSI Adapter with DAT
and 2.3Gb drives under both DOS and OS/2 environments.
NOTE: To use DAT and 2.3Gb drives with the IBM 16-Bit
AT Fast SCSI Adapter, be sure to install the
device drivers provided on this option diskette.
1) DOS environment:
To support DAT drives under DOS, the following two
device drivers are required:
- IBMDAT.DRV
- IBMDAT.MD
To support 2.3Gb drives under DOS, the following two
device drivers are required:
- IBMD23G.DRV
- IBMD23G.MD
2) OS/2 environment:
To support DAT drives under OS/2, use these three device
driver files:
- IBGODATI.DLL
- IBGODATI.SYS
- IBGODATI.TXT
To support 2.3Gb drives under OS/2, use these three device
driver files:
- IBMO23GI.DLL
- IBMO23GI.SYS
- IBMO23GI.TXT
