The IBM Triple LANStreamer PCI Adapter is a 32-bit, bus-master token-ring adapter for the PCI bus architecture. It's unique, high-quality filter design supports connection to a token-ring network that is wired with shielded/unshielded twisted-pair (STP/UTP) cabling. The adapter can be used in a PCI-compatible slot that supports PCI bridging and that operates at speeds between 25 MHz and 33 MHz

Features of the IBM Triple LANStreamer PCI Adapter include

Autosense, a configurable option that permits the adapter port to detect and operate at the data rate of the attached ring.
Support for a variety of network operating systems and network applications.
Support for full-duplex, token-ring LAN operation.
Support for microcode update.
Autom. configuration of I/O, Memory, ROM space, and interrupt level by PCI BIOS on power-up.
Can be plugged in to a PCI-bus slot that supports PCI bridging (half or full size, 5V or 3.3V signaling, 32-bit or 64-bit.
Uses less than 9.9 watts.
Single RJ-45 connector for UTP or STP per port.

BIOS Requirements

The IBM Triple LANStreamer PCI Adapter requires the system to support PCI bridging. The supported environments are:

PCI-to-PCI bridge BIOS support is implemented in the system BIOS
The system's BIOS implements, or is compatible with, the PCI BIOS Specification, Revision 2.1 or higher.
The system predates the above two items, but is built with components that are explicity supported by the software supplied with the IBM Triple LANStreamer PCI Adapter.

Information regarding specific systems can be found in the file BIOS.TXT , which is located on the Triple LANStreamer PCI Driver Diskette.
