Updating the System Diagnostic Programs

Complete this procedure to update the system diagnostic programs.

1.  Insert the IBM Netfinity 5500 M20 Diagnostic Update  Diskette 1 of 2  into the diskette drive.
2.  Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the server.  The system begins the power-on self-test (POST).

    Information similar to the following will appear on the screen.

     |1. Update Diagnostics                               |
     |3. Exit                                             |
     |                                                    |
     |Enter       F1=Help       F3=Exit                   |

3.  Select: 1. Update Diagnostics and press Enter.
4.  Select a language (0-7) from the list shown on the  next screen and press Enter to accept your choice.

    A message in your selected language similar to the following appears.

     |                                                    |
     |                                                    |

    After this message appears, you will be prompted to  insert the IBM Netfinity 5500 M20 Diagnostic Update  Diskette 2 of 2  into the diskette drive.

5.  Insert the diskette into the diskette drive and press Enter.
6.  Press Enter to confirm that you want to update the  system diagnostic programs.

    A message similar to the following appears.

     |                                                    |

    After this message, another message similar to the  following appears.

     +----------------------------------------------------+

     | The system diagnostic is being updated and it might|
     | take up to 5 minutes to complete. Do not power off |
     | or restart the system during this procedure.       |
     |                                                    |
     +----------------------------------------------------+
    

7.  When the update is complete, a message similar to the following appears.

     | Diagnostic Update Completed.                       |
     |                                                    |
     | Remove the diskette from the drive and press       |
     | Enter to restart the system.                       |
     |                                                    |
     +----------------------------------------------------+
