Hardware Configuration Conflicts

Use the following information to help resolve hardware configuration conflicts:
  1.  Run the System Configuration Utility program to view  and change the resources that are used by the  system board functions. Record the current settings  before making any changes.
  2.  Determine which adapter or device is causing the  error. Use the Change Configuration Settings  selection in the System Configuration Utility program  to update system configuration information (.CFG)  files. (See 'Step 3: Change Configuration Settings' for instructions.)
  3.  Change configuration resource allocations. Use the  Change Configuration Settings selection in the  System Configuration Utility program to view or  change system-board resource allocations. (See 'Step 3: Change Configuration Settings' for instructions.)
  4.  Change adapter jumpers or switches. Jumpers and  switches define the system resources that a device  can use. If the settings are incorrect or set to use a  resource that cannot be shared, a conflict occurs and  the device remains deactivated. Use the  Switch/Jumper Settings selection in the System  Configuration Utility program to verity switches (see 'Step 5: View Switch/Jumper Settings').  Read the documentation that comes with the device.
  5.  Change system (planar) board jumpers or switches.
  6.  Remove the device or adapter. Some configurations  are not supported (for example, you cannot operate  the server with two ISA SVGA adapters installed).
