Setting a Power-On Password

Setting a Power-On Password

When a power-on password is set, you must enter a password each time you start the system.

If you forget the power-on password, and an administrator password has been set, use the administrator password at the power-on prompt. Then start the Configuration/Setup utility program and change the power-on password.

If a poer-on password is set and then forgotten, and no administrator password is set, then, you must move the password jumper to clear the password and regain acces to the Configuration/Setup utility program. This procedure erases the current server configuration (see 'Removing an Unknown Power-On/Administrator Password' for more information. You must then reconfigure the server.
