Use the system memory information actions to diagnose single inline memory modules (SIMM) and dual inline memory modules (DIMM). The error correction code (ECC) memory controller chip set continuously monitors the SIMM and DIMM in a server. When the memory controller detects an error (either single-bit or multiple-bit), the System Management Interrupt (SMI) logs the error.
A service processor and the corresponding device driver must be installed on the system.
Use the following actions to diagnose the SIMM and DIMM:
The Results field displays the results of the action and provides detailed information for resolving issues. Use the documentation that comes with your server for information about correcting a failed device.
