ServeRAID controller
Use the ServeRAID controller actions to verify whether the non-volatile random
access memory (NVRAM) found on the controller is operating properly, to check
the status of the physical drives, and to list information about the controller.
Prerequisites for performing actions on the ServeRAID controller
To perform the Determine Status of Drives in Array action, at least
one hard disk drive must be attached to the ServeRAID controller.
Actions
Use the following actions to diagnose the ServeRAID controller:
- Verify Communication with NVRAM
Indicates whether the memory contained in the ServeRAID controller can be
written to and read from. Use this test to verify whether the memory is working
correctly.
- Determine Status of Drives in Array
Runs the SCSI standard drive self-test command for each drive that supports
the SCSI self-test. Use this test to verify the following information:
- Vendor identification
- Predictive Failure Analysis alerts
- Location of drives
- State of drives
- View IBM ServeRAID Controller Status Information
Displays the following information:
- BIOS and firmware levels
- PCI slot number
- Number of attached physical drives
- Number of SCSI channels controlled
- Status of the controller
Results
The Results field displays the results of the action and provides detailed
information for resolving issues. Use the documentation that comes with your
server for information about correcting a failed device.
