Use the BladeCenter diagnostics to display the server status, information, and errors. When the BladeCenter diagnostics are installed, they are displayed on the IBM Director Console Tasks pane. Drag the BladeCenter diagnostics task onto the BladeCenter unit as you would any other IBM Director task.
To use the BladeCenter diagnostics, the BladeCenter unit must be powered on. The BladeCenter unit must appear unlocked in the IBM Director Console. Check the connections for all BladeCenter unit components to make sure they have power.
Displays the status of the Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) communication of the management module and blade server management hardware.
Indicates whether communication through the midplane is operational.
Displays the system event log information of the management module and stores
it in the Events results.log. Each management module log contains information
for each of the blade servers in the chassis and the events and errors that
are logged for the management module.

When active light path diagnostics LEDs are detected, an event is generated by IBM Director. The details information for the event provides the following information about the active LED:
You can view the status of the BladeCenter diagnostics task using the Scheduler task. In IBM Director Console, click Tasks -> Scheduler. The "Scheduler" window opens. Click the Jobs tab to display the Jobs page. Click the applicable job in the left pane. Job information is displayed in the right pane, including the status. When a job is completed on a managed system, the status is Complete.
When a BladeCenter diagnostics task is completed, an IBM Director event is generated. This file contains information about the task, and can be viewed using the IBM Director Event Log task. Use the View Diagnostics Results task to view the results. The results of an action can be found under the IBM Director Scheduler task by clicking the Jobs tab.
Test results can also be found in the Diagnostic Results.log file.
