AIX Version 4.3 Package Guide for LPP Installation

This package in the AIXwindows licensed program contains X Server and X Consortium core libraries.

X11.base.rte	AIXwindows Run-Time Environment This fileset contains the executables necessary to start the X Server.
X11.base.lib	AIXwindows Run-Time Libraries This fileset contains the supported X Consortium core libraries.
X11.base.common	AIXwindows Run-Time Common Directories This fileset contains the run-time common directories.
X11.base.smt	AIXwindows Run-Time Shared Memory Transport This fileset contains the shared memory transport kernel extension load module.

The AIXwindows Run-Time Environment package requires approximately 9.8 MB of disk space.

Install requisite software either before or with the filesets you are installing from this package.

Stop X Server and any X Client before installing another version of the software.
The Base Operating System Run-Time fileset is separate from Base Operating System Run-Time Library. When installing a server machine, you do not need to install the X Server and device specific filesets.

The AIXwindows Run-Time Environment preserves the following files:

/usr/lpp/X11/bin/static_ext

/usr/lpp/X11/lib/X11/rgb.txt
