The DEC VT100 must be configured with the keypad in application mode for the e789 command to function properly. To accomplish this, enter the following command at the VT100 terminal:

Note: For Japanese languages, the PS/55 with DEC VT100 interface can be used to run 3270 Japanese language applications. The TERM variable should be set to VT100. The PS/55 requires both:
